Very interesting museum all about local history. The museum is free but, they do have a box for cash donations. The museum is located in the old county courthouse building. Exhibits are on the first floor only. The upper floor(s?) are undergoing restoration. Well worth a visit!! Check out the photos. With this review. They also have a gift shop with many reasonably priced items.
The museum is small but set up very well. The staff at the time we visited were very helpful. Displays are set up professionally. I highly recommend a visit to the museum.
What a wonderful surprise! Tons of information and exhibits of Ashe County and the staff are very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions. A true treasure you must check out!
